The government has taken an important decision to reduce the carbon foot print for many Japanese Knotweed contaminated brown field sites.
As developers you are aware that recently the UK government stopped paying tax relief for all Japanese Knotweed contaminated soil transported to land fill sites, in order to promote in situ solutions and thereby reduce carbon foot print.
ECS has many carbon friendly solutions available to offer to clients who wish to avoid the practice of disposal of Japanese Knotweed contaminated soil via landfill sites.
This year’s change to the tax ruling means that by utilising any “in situ” Japanese knotweed solution the client will be able to claim tax back, to a value of approx 45 % of the remediation costs depending on the level of corporate tax the client pays .
This scheme will encourage developers and land owners to look more carefully at the time scale of site developing and the rewards of forward planning. ECS have the capability and knowledge to offer competitive “in situ”
Japanese Knotweed solutions for which due to tax relief the government will contribute almost 50% of the cost.
